Late yesterday afternoon I had the distinct pleasure of presiding at the marriage of Edith (Edie) Brooks and Wayne Sam-Fong.

Wayne is Hawai’ian and those are Ti Leis that we are wearing, made from the Ti plant (Cordyline fruticosa) . I had never heard of them before. Apparently that type of lei symbolizes good luck and prosperity and are traditionally worn for special occasions like weddings and graduations.
