This is what Garret is talking about that I linked to previously…
Garret on the possibility of National Park admission fees skyrocketing…
As someone who lives around these parks, I’d like to make a few comments to give some needed illumination on the subject. The media’s using this for cheap shots, and it’s more serious than that:
I know several people who live in Florida; Reno, Commander Dave, Claudine, and Summer. I’m sure I’ve forgotten someone… Please keep yourselves safe.
Admittedly, this is pretty light stuff but sometimes you need light things to re-expose covered-up stuff. I do at least. Or maybe I just love stratigraphy…
“On Tuesday, May 9, Haymarket Books hosted a conversation between Michelle Alexander and Naomi Klein, moderated by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,000 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. In this, the final part of the transcript of that conversation (lightly edited for length and clarity), the three women discuss movement-building, the need to write “people’s platforms” and not to rely on candidates, and their hopes and fears for resistance to the Trump regime. Read part one here and part two here.”

“Should goodness ever lose and evil steal the day, what would you do?”
Raise this issue when you call your Senators about their opposition of the BCRA. [You are calling your Senators, aren’t you?]

The BCRA’s Medicaid cap will create a race to the bottom between the states
This came from Garret at dangerousmeta!

Economist Bruce Bartlett is a man of fierce intellectual independence — and courage, too. Telling the truth about Republican economic policies during the George W. Bush presidency got him fired as a senior fellow at a conservative think tank and brought to an end his long career as an esteemed GOP “insider.” Continue reading
