Ladies and Gentlemen #
May I present the littlest Wiggle.

Ian’s second birthday was ten days ago, so these may be his first ‘trick or treat’ memories. He probably won’t remember much of anything, but he sure liked being a Wiggle! <insert high-pitched little boy voice saying, “Wig-gles!”> [minor grammar edits]
Happy Samhain #
Special wishes to go to Doug. Eliot has a nice bit up on the holiday.

Panther, Panther, Panther #
Went to the local Apple Store for the Night of the Panther rollout. There was a surprisingly large crowd in the queue outside the store for 9:30 on a Friday night. In the 20 minutes I was there I saw two 17″ PowerBooks, four 15″ PowerBooks, one 12″ PowerBook, and three 12″ iBooks get carried out. New ones in those slick boxes. There were at least three desktops rolled out on carts as well. Lots of iPods, iSights and various other ’small’ items were in the hands of the folks around me in the checkout line. Some serious coinage heading Cupertino way.
That little boy was sound asleep before I left. I couldn’t bear to leave before he was in bed and sleeping. I begrudge every moment I’m away from him…
Now what to do with these OSX dog tags?

Bear in the Big Blue House #
In the continuing saga of all things Ian, we went to the Las Vegas engagement of Bear in the Big Blue House: A First Time for Everything. Another great time with the little wiggle-boy.
Grandma and Grandpa got here this morning and went along. All in preparation for Tuesday, the big day, when Ian turns two. The celebration will be Wednesday, since Audrey teaches the evening section of Geology 101 on Tuesday night. SirDeath, we haven’t called you yet, and I apologize - of course you’re invited too.

Out of Gas #
I had big plans for several coherent posts that were going to be timely, witty, etc. My brain and body, however, have other ideas. Like becoming horizontal on a comfortable surface in a quiet, darkened room.

Arguably one of the best blogs out there, wood s lot marks four years.
IMNSHO, of course.
Age of Chivalry #
Tomorrow is the last day of the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Fair here in Las Vegas. I missed it last year, but Audrey and Ian went. Huzzah!
Large buttocks are pleasing to me, nor am I able to lie concerning this matter #

NV Geologists in UT #
It is another Mr. Mom weekend. That certain Ph.D. student is now in Utah on a Geology field trip, stalking another exemplary exposure of metamorphosed volcanic rocks. She comes back so excited, it is pretty neat.
I’ll try to put up some other stuff in a bit. It has been some time since I was last here.
